We chose hickory as our wood of choice.
Its over 25% harder than oak and maple, and the kind we chose is not too dark so it won't suck all the light out of our north facing living room.
I'm going to have a super long day at work that Monday, but when I get home at 9:30 p.m. I am so looking forward to just sitting back and basking in the glory that is wood floors.

We're not declawing them after all. I did a little research and found out more about the process involved. It seems pretty horrific, and we just can't do that to the babies...
