They're both breech (head up) now, which would explain all the little kicks I've been getting in my bladder lately. They were also both facing my right side so they're SPOONING! How cute is that!
They were a little more mellow this time as opposed to all the kicking and punching from the last visit 4 weeks ago. Not as much sugary root beer, I guess. By the way, I love our ultrasound technician. She seems to take such joy in her job and could not be sweeter. She went through everything with me again. Something new - we got to see an EAR today! The way the sensor was positioned, it was just this floating white ear against a blank, black background. That was weird but fun. Also, got a third confirmation - still two boys, showcasing their dangly bits for all the world to see.
Below are a few photos for your viewing pleasure. This time we got a great profile shot of Right Baby, while Left Baby was less than cooperative.
Right Baby was peaceful and enjoying being spooned. Who doesn't, right. His heart rate was in the low- to mid-140's. He's measuring in at 1 pound, 7 ounces! CUTE!

Left Baby was a bit more active. His heart rate was in the mid-150's, and he's measuring in at 1 pound, 9 ounces. You can't see this picture very well, but he's basically looking right at you. You can kind of make out the bridge of his nose & an eye socket. Sorta.

Both babies are growing so well. In fact, they're the same size as singleton babies would be at this point. My perinatologist is very happy with me right now & says that whatever I'm doing, keep doing it! The secret of my success, I think, is all the bubble tea I've been consuming lately. Good stuff!
Greg wasn't able to make it today - it's the first ultrasound he's had to miss. I wish I could tell you the reason because it's way cool, but I've been sworn to secrecy. For the time being. I'll see if I can persuade him to let me spill the beans after his thing today. Fortunately, they let me tape the ultrasound so he can see it with me tonight. I just hope I can remember enough about the scan to be able to interpret all those hazy images.
So I get to see the kiddos again at the end of March. I bet it'll be pretty cramped in there by then. Until that time I just have one request, guys. Please stop messing with mommy's sternum. That hurts!
